Dunedin News.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. In the case against A. W. Nelson, T. J. Whiteman, and Currie Pagan, charged with attempting to commit an illegal operation, another remand was granted, though strongly opposed. It transpired that Detective Campbell, in reply to a question by Nelson, said he thought Whiteman had been speaking about the matter. Nelson said lie would turn the tables, and made a statement putting all the blame on Whiteman. The Otago Land Board, of which he was for many years a member, passed a resoluation heartily congratulating Sir John McKenzie on having had conferred on him the distinguished honor of knighthood.
