(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Dunedin, last night,

At the Supreme Court two young men who had pleaded guilty at the Police Court to charges against them, came up for sentence. A. W. Shepherd, 18 years, from New South Wales, son of'a'Maryland negro, for an indecent assault, received a sentence of two years’ imprisonment. Ernest David Hood, for stealing from his employers, was sentenced to three months. Mr Justice Williams declined to adopt a suggestion that accused should come up when called on, as the effect would be rather to encourage than check pilfering,
