MR HARRIS IN REPLY.

v To the Editor of tho Times.) Sir, —I atn pleased to see that Mr Stafford has at last agreed with me, and he really leaves mo no further points to answer. lie states that if the figures quoted are right some properties are paying less than half what they should. That has been my contention, and what I have fully proved, and of which I have plenty more proof if it is necessary to give. What I have contended is that there should be equalisation ; not that one property should be paying much higher rates than another property of exactly the same nature. As to Mr Stafford's conviction that the rates for water and drainage would be double what is estimated by Mr Lysnar, I say, let Mr Stafford show us how he makes that out. Wo all want any information that can bo given. I must assume that I have at last set Mr Sievwright’s doubts at rest, for he has gracefully retired from the fray.—l am, etc., Frank Harris.
