CAPITAL VALUE OF KAITI.
INCREASE OF OVER £35,000 FOR ONE YEAR. The Secretary of the Kaiti Road Board (Mr H. McKay) yesterday received tho following telegram from tho ValuerGeneral in response to a message sent regarding the capital value of the Haiti district:—“ln reply to yours of yesterday I may state that the capital value of Kaiti is £92,700, unoccupied Crown and Native land £1750, net rateable value ,£90,950. The valuation for the previous year was £57,660, the increase in valuation being the difference.” We understand that a similar increase is expected in the valuation of the Whataupoko district, but the figures are not at present available. Residents of tho borough anticipate with interest the return with regard to the capital value of Gisborne, which, in the opinion of many experts will not be far short of £400,000.
