ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, last night. A son of William Sellwood, .while crossing the Waikato river with two others, fell out of a canoe, and disappeared before assistance could bo given. The body has not yet been found. At the inquest on Mrs O’Dowd, Dr Lowe stated that on May 16th he attended deceased. She stated Dr Wilkins performed an operation on her the previous day. The post-mortem showed that the organs were perfectly healthy, apart from blood-poisoning, which was the cause of death. SUDDEN DEATH AT WAIROA. Wairoa, last night. George Bridger Flint, an old military settler, was found dead on the Marine Parade early this morning. He was not well, and went to see a doctor, and died on the way home. He suffered from heart disease. Blenheim, last night. An elderly man named James Townsend Edwards, employed at an accommodation house sixteen miles from here, was found dead in his bed this morning. An inquest will be held to-morrow.
