Owing to the large number of volunteers who have offered to go to the Christchurch review, the available steamer accommodation is inadequate. Mr Napier, M.H.R., has telegraphed to the Minister for Defence to see if another steamer could not be arranged for. MAORI DEMONSTRATION. Telegraphic news received from Rotorua indicates that the Maori demonstration in Auckland next Saturday will take place as proposed. A SURPLUS. It is estimated there will be a surplus of between £3OO and £409 in connection with the Royal Reception Committee’s accounts.
