KAURI TIMBER COMPANY.

SATISFACTORY AND PROSPEROUS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, June 19. At the half-yearly meeting of the Kauri Timber Company the Chairman congratulated shareholders on the satisfactory position of the Company and the increasing demands for timber. There was a credit surplus of £28,550, against the total credit of .£41,000 to the previous June. The Company would lose nothing by the defalcations of the late manager at Auckland, the embezzled money having been recovered. The amount involved in connection with the committal and trial of the Company’s Melbourne officers would not exceed £I2OO. Eeyond these two unfortunate incidents, the affairs of the Company were in every way satisfactory and prosperous. It was not intended to declare an interim dividend, as it was necessary to pay interest and sinking fund on July Ist. .
