By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, last night. The A. and P. Society decided at its annual meeting to hold an annual show next year, with the view of attracting small farmers. The affairs of the Society were shown to be in a flourishing condition.

The report of the Farmers’ Co-operative Association adopted at the annual meeting on Saturday afternoon provided for- a dividend of 7 por cent, on tho paid up capital, and a bonus of sixpence per bale on wool shipped on account of the shareholders, a bonus of 21 per cent, on purchases of goods by shareholders, oxcept colonial grain and seeds, and a bonus of 15 por cent, on commissions earned on business contributed by shareholders. The official census returns of the four cities give Auckland 84,219, with suburbs 60,232 ; Wellington 43,586, with suburbs 49,292 ; Christchurch 17,537 and 57,039 ; Dunedin 24,85 G and 52,398. Percentages of increase : Wellington, 18'04; Auckland, 16-60; Christchurch, 11'12 ; Dunedin, 10-82. It is claimed that Petone should be included in Wellington suburbs, which which would give a total of nearly 54,000, but the Bcgistrar declines to do this, though equally distinct boroughs are included in other towns. Christchurch, last night. It is understood that A. H. Turnbull, of A. H. Turnbull and Co., grain and seed merchants, has practically decided to be a candidate at tho forthcoming byeelection,
