Glasgow University has conferred a Doctorsbip of Laws upon Earls Beauchamp and Glasgow. On the motion of Lord Salisbury, the House of Lords agreed to appoint a Select Committee to deal with the question of the proposed alteration of the accession oath.
Cooper, an unpopular landlord in Sligo, has been awarded £1499 compensation for the malicious burning of his timber two days after the imprisoning of five members of the United Irish League upon charges of intimidation.
