Matawhero Cadets.

The Matawhero Schoql Cadets held their final parade on Saturday afternoon, when all arrangements were completed for the projected trip to Christchurch, the vacancies in the ranks being filled in with boys from other schools. The headmaster and officers of the corps much regret that so many capable and eager boys had to be i-efused on account of the limited number of passes. Especial sympathy was felt for the following well-trained lads : Smith and Kirk (Te Arai), Woodward and Hapgood (Patutahi), Tietjin (Makauri), Gumming, Rice, and Corbett (Gisborne); and these boys are advised to put ‘'themselves in communication with Mr Marshall and hold themselves in readiness for possible good news by wire'to-day, as strenuous efforts are being made to include them.
