THE NETHERLANDS RAILWAY CERTIFICATES.
GERMAN INTERVENTION.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Berlin, June 15.
The German Government is endeavoring to secure what it considers fair terms in connection with the expropriation of German holders of Netherlands railway certificates, on the ground that they were unable to control the local managers in tho Transvaal, and that they were not guilty of acts of hostility towards the British.
It is hinted that any British offer of redemption of German interests in the railway at par will not be accepted. The value of the certificates has fallen sixtytwo per cent since the Transvaal Concessions Commissioners’ report was published.
