In tho llouso of Commons, Mr Balfour announced that the Government intonds to press forward the Finance, Loan, Bating, Education, and Factory Bills. Sir H. Campbell-Bannerman announced that the Edcation Bill would bo seriously opposed. Mr John Fowles, Conservative candidate, who was unsuccessful at tho general election at tho contest at Hagerston, recovered .£750 damages from Mr W. B. Cremor, tho successful Liberal candidate, on account of a libel published during the election contest with rcforenco to company promotion.
