A semi-official statement has been published here. After referring to the astonishment expressed in Great Britain at tho retention of 800 German troops at Shanghai, it announces that a portion of tho German troops will remain in China until peace negotations arc absolutely sottlod.
French, Russian nnd Japanese brigades also remain.
