By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, June 6. Great Britain has declined Canada’s offer to furnish another cavalry corps. Commandant Snymnn, with one hundred men, has crossed the Orange river and reinforced Latigon, south-west of Venterstad.
The weather is bitterly cold. One hundred and fifty burghers at Pretoria have sworn allegiance to tho King. Delarey, on tho 29th, withdrew to the northward. Colonel Dixon has since obtained reinforcements.
Captain Mastorton, of the Devons; Corporal Clements, of Bemington’s Guides; and Bavonhill, of tho Scotch Fusiliers, have been awar .ed Victoria Crosses.
London, June 6. Sergeant F. Wyllio, of tho New Zealand Bough Biders, was killed at Klipfontein._ The Boers admit that fifty-six of their number wero killed at Vlokfontein. It is believed that the number of wounded equal that of the British. Among the casualties at Blesbokspruit on the Ist were :—Killed: Sergeant W. W. Piper, Farrier J. O’Dwyor, Privato B. Donkin. Soverely wounded, Privato H. Bees. Missing, Privato A. D. McGavin. All these men are Now Zealanders.

DEFENCE OF JAMESTOWN.

Colonel White’s column defeated Kruitzinger noar Jamestown, and captured a quantity of rifles, horses, and ammunition, also most of tho stores looted by tho Boors. The latter lost seven killed and wounded. Colonol Williams' column, operating from Klorksdorp, captured in a fortnight eighteen thousand sheep, throe thousand cattle, one hundred and fifty carts, and many horses. Commandant Potgiotor voluntarily surrendered to Colonel Williams.
The Jamestown' garrison, consisting of sixty men, made a splendid defence, killing twelve amiN'vounding fifteen. Thoy lost four killed, and two w ounded.

Private H. Boos, of Wostportj,; was wounJbd, and Privato A. D. RfroGavin is missing. It is understood tijxero is.hfornlation that some men were 'killed in tho engagement, but tho names Hire not available yet. Tho Premier has received a cable from Capetown stating that the following Now Zealanders have been killed: At Klipfoutein on May 26th, Sergoant H. Wyllie (Botorua); at Doornplat on Juno Ist, Sergeant N. H. Kopper (Wellington), Private J. O’Dwyer (Blenheim), Privato M. Donkin (Thames). Tho message further states that Trooper H. Boos (Wairau) was wounded at Doornplat, and Troopor A. D. McGavin (Blenheim) was missing, but has since turned up-
