HARBOR BOARD.

A special meeting of the Harbor Board was held-yesterday afternoon to appoint an arbitrator to represent tho Board in the adjusting of the rent payable to the Board by the Gisborne Freezing Company for the ensuing term. There were present : Messrs Townley (Chairman), Matthewson, Macfarlane, Sievwright, Cooper, and Captain Tucker. The Chairman said it would have been as well if they could have avoided the cost of the arbitration, but, as it was, they should deal with the matter as early as possible. Mr Matthewson said that he had pleasure in proposing Captain Ohrisp as the Board’s arbitrator. That gentleman; was a good judge of property. Mr Cooper seconded the motion, saying that he did not think they could make a more ..satisfactory appointment, an expression ,gf opinion with which Captain Tucker concurred. The motion was carried unanimously. In the case of disagreement, the Magistrate appoints a referee,
