THE HOSPITAL BALL.
The Hospital Ball Committee met at the Borough Council Chambers last evening to receive a statement of accounts to dato in connection with the ball held at Messrs William and Kettle’s wool stores on the evening of Victoria Day. Mr Nolan occupied the chair. The accounts presented were very satisfactory. The tickets sold amounted to L9O 18s, and donations and sundry receipts (including the handsome ?> donation of Ll2 given by the Gisboimo Gas Company to cover the cost of the gas fittings and gas supplied) came to L 34 9s lOd. The disbursements were : Gas fittings and gas, Ll2 ; advertising and printing, L 9 6s 3d ; sundries, LlO 14s 6d ; leaving a net balance of L 93 7s Id available for the Hospital. On the motion of the Chairman, seconded by the Mayor, the accounts were adopted, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to all those who, in so many various ways, had worked so well to carry the matter to such a successful issue.
