KRUGER’S ALLEGED ANXIETY.

Kruger is anxious lest Botha’s secretary and Smuts, who were to have met tho Dutch Consul at Standerton, should be deputed to seek tho Consul’s intervention with tho British to secure a truce. Tho Consul returned to Pretoria from Standerton before the arrival of Botha’s delegates. The South African Constabulary near Pretoria captured a small party, including Abram Malan, Joubort’s son-in-law, until recently Commandant of Pietersburg. Lord Kitchener reports that two additional lieutenants of Yeomanry were killed and another is missing from the Ylakfontoin engagement on the 29th.
