A BID FROM PUSHING AMERICANS.

The Premier recently received a letter from an eminent New York financial firm, which pointed out the opportunity that the Now York market presented for placing Government stocks, and inviting the Premier when next placing a loan to give Americans a chance of showing what they could do. The Premier, in commenting on the proposal, said that ho believed that the usual course of going to the British market should generally be followed. Still, if it became clear that better terms could be obtained in other countries, he would favor accepting them.
