PRESENTATION OF MEDALS.

The Duke, wearing the uniform of the Royal Fusiliers, presented medals on tho lawn of Government House in the presence of Lord Hopetouu, State Governor, the military heads, the Premier,' and a select gathering. About fourteen hundred medals were distributed. Tho balance will be forwarded to the others entitled to them. The Duke briefly conversed with Captain Withon, tho first man to enter Pretoria, and Captain Robertson, a medalled veteran. The Royalties afterwards inspected the Baden-Powell presentation sword. They held a reception of members of the two houses, and gave a dinner at Government House at night.
