AUCKLAND EDUCATION BOARD.

At the Board of Education, Mr Muir moved that the Board take immediate steps to acquire a site on which to erect a training college for teachers. He thought a Normal school was urgently necessary. Mr Farrell seconded the motion, and said he thought young teachers were not sufficiently looked after. A proper course of training should be given thorn. Mr Bagnall suggested the endowment of a Chair of Pedagogy’ at the University’. The motion was agreed to.

The Minister of Education wrote to the Board stating that there had been great difficulty in obtaining New Zealand ensigns for schools, but 75 had now been received, of which 25 would bo forwarded to the Auckland Board.
