General Blood is collecting a daily average of 60 prisoners, those who have surrendered. The British finding Amersioort deserted laid in ambush. Commandant Joubort and Magistrate Spurwattor, with five Boers, entered. They bolted when challenged. Joubert and tho Magistrate wore wounded. The Boers were reinforced and the British retired to Glaaskop with throe prisoners. Janalphen, late Transvaal PostmasterGcneral, has started on a mission from Kruger to Botha. A British agent is shadowing him, hoping to frustrato liis mission.

The following returned troopers left Sydney for Auckland by tho Elingamitc on Wednesday: Sergeant Sudd, Privates Hutchinson, Goldstone (2), McLean, Bovey, Field, Goddard, Wigmore, of the New Zealand Mounted Rifles ; Burn, Murdoch, Mcc, Sewell, Porter, New Zealand Rough Riders ; Jaquery and Williams, Imperial Buslmicn ; Collins, Brabant’s Horse ; Knight, Roberts’ Horso : Jones, Anderson, Davidson, Kitchener’s Horse.
