FOOTBALL.

A very interesting game of football was played yestorclay morning, school boys against working boys. Both sides had a very strong team, and for the first twenty minutes neither side scored, but Quigley making a good rush, secured a try for the working boys. Roderick kicked for the goal, but -without success. Play again started, and before long Roderick scored another try for the working boys, Dods trying for the goal, but again without success. By this time the school were beginning to rally up, and it took the working boys all their time to save a try, but by the good play of the forwards, -with Quigley in their centre, the school boys were not able to score. At half-time the working boys were 6 points to the school boys’ nil. Play again' commenced, and before long Witty and Dods, by some splendid passing, scored another try. Working boys 9, school nil. For the nest few minutes play was very even, but the working boys again proved too strong for their opponents, Doyle securing a try, making the score 12 to nil. During the last five minutes the school boys played a splendid game, and by a good rush Morgan was able to score for the school, the game ending : working boys 12, school 3. The West End team for to-day’s football will be picked from the following Nolan, Vincent, Roderick (2), Power, Brown, Watene, Sherriff (2), Wepiha, Devitt (2), Taylor, Clark, Hakakai, Woolwright, Hepburn, and Rangi. The team to represent City against Haiti (juniors) will be picked from the following: Chris, Rynan, Webb, Kirk, Siddells, Hill, Craig, McGregor, Bridsen, MeGillivray, Ellis, . Johnston, Sargisson, Morel], Morse, Dods, Primrose, Cain, Kelly, and M. Gough. Haiti: Pettie, Witty, Black, W.
