I expressed no opinion wlmtovor about tho use of stimulants in disease. I simply mentioned an of one medical .'entloman in England. Tnat experience was largoly commented on at the time in England. ' Abstainer would appear to he possessed of a similar animus to that we heard so much of on Monday night. I made no attack whatover on tho Hospital. I wrote simply in the spirit of an enquiry. Tho comments I had heard from a variety of sources caused me to consent to a 10quost made to mo that I would write. The letter of A. ought to satisfy those w.io Rave been in a state of uneasiness, and its publication will I hope do much good. The tenor of my letter was intended to enquire if too much was not being required in physical and mental strain on the staff in general. I once saw Dr Craig operate on a patient in an accidont case, and formed a high opinion oi his surgical kindness and ability.
