THE SCHOOL.
To the Editor of the Times. Sir,—Tho statements tnado in Mr Clayton’s letter of yesterday aro not in accordance with the facts. Instead of mailing unsupported charges in the Press, Mr Clayton’s proper course is to lay a written complaint before the Committoe. —I am, etc., J. FI. Bull.
THE HOSPITAL.
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—l cannot altogether understand the reason for Mr Peckovcr’s attack on tho Hospital management, except it be in the last few words about stimulants. Is ho one of those teetotal “ cranks ” who would let a man die rather than attempt to sustain life by moistening the lips with alcohol ? lam a total abstainer myself, but may I forever be guarded against such narrow-minded bigotry as to suppose that in no circumstance is alcohol of use — strychnine and arsenic have their curative use. I am afraid it would be a queer world if peopled by men who are so narrow-minded as Mr Peckover. It is lucky for the anti-prohibitionists that they do exist. —I am, etc., Abstainer.
