Eighth Contingent.

CAPTAIH TODD’S STATEMENT. (Py Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, last night. Captain Todd, D. 5.0., who returned from South Africa yesterday, states that should an eighth contingent be required fully 300 of the returned troopers would be ready to go on active service again. He himself has sent in his application for a commission in tho event of another contingent being raised. Captain Todd returns to AVellington on official business.
