NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN.
ANNUAL CONVENTION.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wanganui, last night. The annual convention of the National Council of Women of New Zealand commenced its sittings to-day, when some fifteen delegates, representing the affiliated societies of all parts of the colony, took their seats. A formal welcome took place at the evening meeting, when the delegates were welcomed by the Mayor, Mr Hatrick, Mr Willis, M.H.R., Mrs M’Gregor, Miss Fraser, Dr. Hatherley, Revs. Cocker and Dr. Smith. After Airs Sievwright and Airs Atkinson returned thanks on behalf of the delegates. Mrs Sheppard, President of the Council, delivered an address, and Aliss Henderson read the secretarial report.
