The Ophir arrived in King Goorgo’s Sound this evening. The cruisers arrive early to-day. The Now Governor,-Sir Arthur Lawloy, was landed from the Royal yacht, which resumes her voyage this_ morning.

When the Duko's Commission instituting the Federal Parliament has been road the Duchess will press a dainty golden telegraph koy and start on its way to Buckingham Palace, the messago advising the King of the fact. All linos of cablos will be kept clear. Tho key will afterwards be presented to the Duchess. The Blelbournc University confers a Doctorship of Laws on the Duke. Adendem degrees have also been conferred on Blessrs Barton and Tennyson, tho Bishop of Tasmania, and Sir Samuel Way.
HONORARY COBIBIISSIONERS APPOINTED.

In addition to the t-hreo honorary commissioners appointed in Wellington, tho following gentlemen will be associated with Blr Holmes, Executive Commissioner, in arranging matters for the Royal visit: — Auckland: Blessrs Henry Brett, Seymour George, and John BlcLeod. Christchurch: Blessrs G. G, jjjtoad Robert Allan, and F. Wingrame. Dunedin : Blessrs Robert Chisholm and F. R. Chapman, and Colonel Wales.
Invercargill: Blr Nicholas Johnston, SCHOOL FOR BIAORI GIRLS.
It is announced that tho Duchess of York will lay the foundation stone of the Victoria school at Auckland for Blaori girls. The funds for the building have now reached £9OO.
