They brought in thirty prisoners, sixty thousand sheep, six thousand cattle, one hundred waggons, threo hundred horses, and eight huudred refugees. A REMARKABLE FIGHT. Wheelwright, and twenty-six Europeans marched at night a mile and a half to meet Beyer’s commando, numbering four hundred and posted at Nlcongcninck, commanding tho wholo range and portion of Ulundo Plain. Tho cuoiny used expanding bullets. Tho enemy wore driven at daybroak to tho summit of the range. The British extonded along tho Boor skirmishing lino, oaclr man fighting independently. Most of tho British casualties occurrod in dislodging a party from tho ditches and trees at Ukongcinhill. Fivo British checked tho enemy’s advanco across tho plain. The Governor has replied to tho Blayor that he would be unable to come to Dunedin to meet the Tongariro. Tho local agents of the Tongariro arc advised that the boat is leaving Sydney to-day, so she should make Otago Hoads on Blonday night. .
