The Royal Visitors.

Arrangements arc being made for the Duke of York to present medals to soldiers who have returned from South Africa. Similar arrangements will probably be mado in the other States.
The Duke of York will despatch a message to the King immediately tho Commonwealth Parliament is opened. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wellington, last night. Mr Holmes, Executive Commissioner of the Royalreception, has been advised from Melbourne that tho constitution and order of the procession in that city will be as follows: —Their Royal Highnesses in the State carriage, the suite'in accompanying carriages, with mounted troops from all the States and New Zealand.

Subject to the Governor’s approval, the Cornwalls will reside at Mr A. E. G. Rhodes’ residence, Tekoraha, Mcrrivalc. A number of other large residences have been under offer to the Government for the purpose. Tho proprietor of Coker’s Hotel claims that tho Government have broken their agreement with him as regards tho Cornwalls staying at his hotel, and he therefore declines to accommodate the Royal suite.
The contingent that- is to represent New Zealaud at the opening of tho Federal Parliament left by tho Warrimoo tonight. New uniforms have been arriving during the week, the last part of the order coming to hand this afternoon, when the first full-dress parade was held. The mounted men, natives, and infantry are dressed in khaki, tho artillery and Permanent Force in blue with red facing, tho engineers in blue trousers with red tunics, and the Highlanders in kilts. A large crowd turned out to sec the contingent off. The Garrison Band played to the station, and the two local companies forming an escort. Hearty cheers were accorded the men as the train moved off.
