Mr Joshua Jones, of Now Zealand, has sued his solicitor, named Flower, on a charge of improperly obtaining tho Mokau Estate. Mr Justice Phillimoro hold that, though the solicitor had been guilty of misconduct, it was unnecessary to punish him beyond ordering him to pay tho costs of the action. The Opposition members of the llouso of Commons do not intend serving on tho c joint committee upon tho accession oath, leaving the responsibility of tho proposals to tho Government; hence the Douse of Lords’ Committee alone will carry out the investigation. St. Petersburg, April 2-1. The Senate of Finland protests against the ordinary Budget being used to provide for the maintenance of Russian gendarmerie in Finland.
