Walker, 4th N./j. Rough Riders, for good service in connection with the capture of guns by Colonel Babington. The following lnivo been awarded tho Distinguished Conduct Modal : Sergeant Davenport, Ist Australian Bushmen; Private Langham, 4th N.Z. Bushmen ; Sergeant George, Private Angod, Wcstraliau Bushmen ; Farrier-Sergeant Rouse, Private Free, 6th N.Z. Rough Riders ; Corporal May, Australian Bushmen. Lieutenant-Colonel Ilaig, near Pcrston, is pursuing Commandants Shccpcr and Malan’s commandos.
Tho Victorians, after bombarding for an hour a position hold by a section of Malan’s commando, assaulted and carried it. Major Crewe, of tho Border Ilorsc, is pursuing Kruitziugcr in the mountains north-east of Stcyusberg. The steamer Morayshire convoys the returning Australian Bushmen to Australia. Privates Clancy and Jones, New South Wales mounted men, have died of enteric.
Adelaide, April 25. A despatch has been received from the military authorities in South Africa regarding shipments of cargoes of breadstuffs supposod to havo boon sold to tho Boers. The Government, in reply, state - that at tho beginning of hostilities tlioywero asked to watch all ships leaving Australia, and this was done. A SHARP FIGHT. By Telegraph—Pross Association—Copyright London, April 25. A sharp light took ■ place on Tuesday at Honoyncstkloof against a hundred Boers. Five Boers wore wounded and several captured.
