A SAD FATE.

WOMAN BURNED TO DEATH. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Napier last night. Tho police have received information that Mrs Eliza Moon was burned to death at Tauranga early this morning through her house being destroyed by lire. Deceased was 90 years of age.

Tauranga, last night. Particulars of tho fire which caused the death of Mrs Moon show that deceased lived at Gate Pa, three miles from here. When the fire was discovered the cottage was ablaze, and it was impossible for anyone to enter. Her son Frederick, who usually lived with his mother, was away from home, and no one was in the house with her. After the destruction of the house the remains were discovered halfway between where the bed stood and the front door. Deceased was 95 years of age, and had resided here 40 years.
