' PKESENTATION. [By Telegraph—Press Association.] Wanganui, last night. A public meeting to-night, convened by the Mayor for the purpose of making a presentation to the Rev. G. Bond, was largely attended. Mr Bond, who goes to the South Wellington Wesleyan Church, has been stationed here for five years, and has taken a prominent part in educational and other public matters. The presentation, which was made by the Mayor on behalf of the citizens, took the form of a purse of sovereigns and an illuminated address. THE WELCOME HOME. A _ public meeting was held to-night to consider what steps are to be taken to welcome the returning Wanganui troopers. It was decided to leave the matter in the hands of the committee appointed when the contingent was despatched.
