Scotland Yard authorities, in conjunction with American detectives of Pinkerton’s Agency, ascertained that Gainsborough’s picture of Georgina, Duchess of Devonshire, which was bought by Messrs Agnew for ten thousand guineas, and stolen from their house on May 16th, after being cut from the frame, was concealed in a town of the Western States.
