BOWLING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Oamaru, last night. Rain to-day interfered with all the outdoor amusements. Only the rink match of the bowling tournament was completed, and in that Maekie’s rink (Dunedin) boat Coleman’s rink (Ashburton) and won. BUGGY ACCIDENT. A buggy accident happened at Sandhurst on Saturday', by which eight people were more or less injured. They were visitors from Dunedin. One, Mr Peter McLean, sustained a fracture of the skull, and his recovery was at first doubtful, but ho regained consciousness for a time this morning, and the doctors, of which there were four in consultation, are more hopeful, although yet it is difficult to say what the result will be. The others sustained bruises and cuts. Messrs Smellie, senr, and junr., of the Green Island ironworks, were in the trap at the time. SPORTS. At the Hibernian Society’s Sports rain fell heavily until midday, making cycling unsafe and the runnin g track very heavy. The Seventy-five Yards Handicap was won by F. H. Somers [Wellington), W. L. Collins (Dunedin) 2, <J7 Hegarty 3. Time, 7 1-5 s. The Sheffield Handicap, 200yds, resulted in H. Somers and W. L. Colvin being a dead heat, A. McKay (Dunedin), 3. Time, 23 2-stlis s. 440yds : W. L. Colvin 1, J. Taylor (Invercargill) 2, D. McLaren (Dunedin), 3. Half-mile : J. Fechney (Ashburton) 1, W. Pilcher (Timaru) 2, R. J. Barclay (Timaru) 3. Time, 2,17. Mile Handicap : J. McAuliffe (Timaru) 1, W. Pilcher 2, J. Rodda 3. Time, 5.4 J.
