FRUITGROWERS’ CONFERENCE.
A BIG GATHERING.
[bv TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION’.] Dunedin, last night.
For tho conference of horticulturists, pomologists, viticulturists and entomologists, to be held during the currency of the winter show’, 70 or 80 representatives from all parts of tho colony are expected, avid there is a prospect of delegates • from Earatonga and other Islands being present. Papers will also be read by Government experts. The Steamship Companies have agreed to reduce the fares by ten per cent., and Government has agreed, after various reductions have been made, to pay half the fare of the delegates. Societies have been asked to forward collections of fruit, for which trophies and medals will be given, but there will be no individual competition,
