MINING AT THE THAMES.
GOVERNMENT WILL ASSIST IN BORING OPERATIONS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, last night. The Government has decided to assist in boring operations on the foreshore at the Thames to discover if lodes tending seaward can bo intersected at a depth. The boring plant is to be cut free of charge by Government, who also grant a subsidy of ten shillings for every pound expended by the Victoria Goldmming Company, who own the claim.
