The Napier Park meeting opened under favorable conditions to-day, the weather being favorable, and the attendance large. The course was a bit holding, consequent on the heavy rain on Sunday. Following are the results : Hack Hurdles.—Bushman 1, Waterport 3, Eau de Vie 3. All started. Won with ease by two lengths. Time 3.1 4-5, div. £1 16s. Esk Handicap.—Mongonui 1, Lady’s Link 2, Uila 3. All started. Won easily by a length.' Time 1.32 2-5, div. £4 3s. Sapling Stakes. —Destroyer 1, Snooze 2, Tawha 3. All started. Won by a head. Time 1.5 2-5, div. £l7 11s. Napier Cup Handicap, of 400 sovs ; 1] miles.—Matoroa 1, Sirius 2, Ideal 3. All started. A protest was entered against Materoa on the ground of boring Ideal on to the fence. The protest was upheld. Time 2.40 4-5, div. on Sirius £ll 4s, Hurdles.—Evening Wonder 1, Vanquish 2, Torpina 3. All started. Time 3.29, div. £2 2s. Redclyfie Handicap.—Lady’s Link 1, Grown Prince 2, Uila 3.
