Wreck of a Yacht.

LATER INFORMATION. By Telegraph—Per Press Association Oamaru, last night. The Ariadne, which came ashore two miles south of tho Waitaki River at 8 o’clock on Saturday night, is tho yacht of Mr Kerry, of London. She is a beauti-fully-fitted vessel of 230 tons, and is valued at 4115,000. The owner left the vessel in Sydney, and instructed his sailing master to proceed to Dunedin. It was in making for that port that she came ashore. The vessel was beating down tho coast at the time, but no information can be obtained as to how tho accident happened. Mr Kerry is in New Zealand, but where it is not known. The vessel lies under a high bank of shingle ; at high-water she is struck by every sea, and it is doubtful if sho will be got off. A heavy sea is rolling in from the south, but as the wind has now moderated the sea may go down. Tho crow of twelve are safely ashore, and tho vessel at low water lies in comparative safety. The owner of the Ariadne is at present in Sydney. He states that the yacht is insured for 4110,000 at Lloyd's.
