AUCKLAND NEWS.

SUPPOSED-SUICIDE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, last night. The body of a native named Ruge was found on Sunday on the ocean beach at Tauranga, near the Mount. It is believed that he drowned himself on the 16th inst. while temporarily insane. THE ’FRISCO SERVICE. Messrs Neill and Co. (Limited), of Dunedin, have been appointed agents in Otago for Messrs Spreckles’ new mail service via San Francisco. SELLING CIDER.

William Evans was charged at the Police Court to-day with selling cider. The Magistrate said the burden of proof to show that cider was not alcoholic lay on the defendant. The percentage of alcohol in the sample was small, and as the defendant promised not to sell cider in future, the case would be dismissed with a caution.
