APPOINTMENTS OF NON-COM-MISSIONED OFFICERS. •i'r THE TROOPSHIP DELAYED. ONE EFFECT OF THE STRIKE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. The following Seventh Contingent noncommissioned appointments have beon made : Staff regimental sergeant-major, F. G. W. Rice; quarter-master sergeant-major, A. G. Smith ; farrier sergeant-major, D. Fraser; orderly-room sergeant, E. H. Taylor ; orderly-room corporal, F. W. Crespin ; bugler sergeant, C. Woods ; dispenser, W. Jeffery, Wellington company ; color-sergeant, E. B. Locket; divisional sergeants, A. Petersen, A. S. N. Robinson, F. W. Parker; sergeants, R. Halim, T. W. Telford, J. Column; corporals, E. A. Pointou, J. Smith, C. H. Matthews, R. Burnett, A. F. Cuff, C. Watt; bugler, P. Minifie ; farrier, J. Quinn. The transport Gulf of Taranto, in which the contingents are to be taken to South Africa, has been delayed at Nowcastle owing to the strike, and cannot reach here before the 30th. To fill up time the men will march through the country districts, and camp at Trentham.
