MAHIA v. MANGAHEIA. The Mangalieia and Mahia polo teams met yesterday morning at Mr Reynolds’ ground, Tolago. Mangahcia was represented by J. Murphy (captain), M. Murphy, E. Reynolds, Bruce, and Bennett. The Mahia team comprised : Ture (captain), Rangi, Sam, and Te Hau. Tho Mahia team had all the best of the first part of the spell, their combination and hitting being exceedingly good. The first spell was—Mahia 3, Mangaheia nil. In the second spell the latter gained one. The third spell was very exciting, the visitors scoring two goals to the home team’s one. During this spell, one of the Mahia players had a nasty fall, causing play to be stopped for some time. In the final spell, Mangaheia succeeded in scoring another goal, bnt the visitors also increased their score, the game resulting in a win for Mahia by 10 to 3. The scorers for Mahia were : Rangi (2), To Hau (1), Sam (2), Ture (5). For Mangaheia: The Murphy’s (1 each), Bruce and Bennett (1 each).
