[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Dunedin, last night. TEACHERS’ SALARIES. The Education Board has received a telegram from the Inspector-General of the Education Department, stating that as the Government has decided to set up a Royal Commission to report on the matter of a colonial scale of salaries, it is not considered necessary to hold a conference to come to an adjustment as to the increase of teachers’ salaries at present. PROMOTION.
It is understood that Mr James Eden, manager of the Hillside railway workshops, has accepted a highly lucrative position on the Westrajian Government service. ’ '
