TIMARU NEWS,
GRAND LODGE OF DRUIDS. [by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Timaru, last night. At the resumed sitting of the Druids’ District Grand Lodge the rules were amended to give 20s instead of 10s per week for the first 6ix months on the sick list. A proposal to establish female lodges was rejected. The business has been concluded.
SEVENTH CONTINGENT.
The second call for volunteers for the Seventh Contingent (the first was thirtyfive and the second fifty-five), promises to be well responded to. The first muster was made this evening of .36. GRATEFUL RECOGNITION. Some time ago three models of the cannon made at Mafeking, the barrel of greenstone and the carriage of silver and gold, were sent from here to Sir George White, General Baden-Powell, and Colonel Kekewich, in recognition of their bravery. Acknowledgments have just been received from each. General Baden-Powell says that the model made from a newspaper photograph is a very good one,
