BOERS OCCUPY PEARSON,

Commandant Yan Eeenan, with five hundred men, is laagered at Diepkloof, near Coleshurg. The Boers have occupied Pearson, fifty miles south-east of Graafreinet. A number of Hafeking rebels have received sentences of three years each. A farmer was ■ fined £2OO, or two years’ imprisonment, for harboring rebels.
Mr Bennett Burleigh says the second Australian contingents, while willing to stay until relieved, are asking that the date of their return should be fixed. Wellington, last night. The Premier is advised that Nurse Dora Peifer, of Christchurch, who is ill at Pretoria, is receiving every attention. Private Saxby is in Natal awaiting transport to New Zealand. Private Von Dadelszen, of Napier, concerning whom inquiries were made from New Zealand, was quite well when last heard of, and was then with his regiment.
