NAPIER LICENSING BENCH.
MISCONDUCT IN CALEDONIAN HOTEL. ___ / LICENSE MUST BE TRANSFERRED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Napier, last night. The quarterly meeting of the Napier Licensing Committee was held to-day. The police reported’ unfavorably on the manner in which the Caledonian Hotel had been conducted during the last quarter. Complaints had been made of frequent rows in the hotel, and on the 16tli February, after midnight, a fight took place, the police having to be called in to put a stop to the disturbance. It was shown that since then a competent manager had been put in, and that now the hotel was most satisfactorily conducted.
After considering the police report, the committee were of opinion that the license must be transferred within one month.
