FOUR PEOPLE OVERCOME BY FOUL AIR. ONE DEATH. BRAVE RESCUERS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, March 4. John Stevens, working in a sewer, was overcome by foul air. A fellow-workman, named Ckallis, went to tlio assistance of Stevens, but ho also was overcome. Two others descended to attompt a rescue, but they were overcome. Nothing daunted, other workmen and a constable went down, and succeeded in rescuing the men.

Stevens has died, but the others have recovered.
