WESLEYAN CONFERENCE.
MINISTERIAL SESSION. [By Telegraph—Press Association.] Wellington, last night. Tho Wesleyan Conference met this morning in Ministerial session. It was resolved that the Revs. William Beckett, M. A. Gilmour, R. P. Ceall, D. Weatherall, W. Willis, W. Greensladc. J. H. Haslam, A. N. Scottcr, W. R. Tuck, and R. Wilson, had [passed in their respective years of probation. The Rev. E. P. Blamiers reported as to having travelled one year. The Rev. A. Reader and Rev. W. J. Oxbron were received on probation, and will be appointed to circuits. Messrs G. Eaton, E. D. Patchett, and Joseph Belton remain for a second year in Prince Albert College for further training. Several candidates for the ministry were orally examined, but consideration of their cases were not concluded when the session closed.
The Conference 'met in representative session in the afternoon.
Consideration was given to the report of the committee on the administration of the Church Building and Loan Fund. A question was raised as to the power of the committee, and the ruling of the President that they had acted within thenpower was carried by 81 to 18 votes. Speeches in support of the existing state of things were made by the Rev. J. J. Lewis and Dr. Morley, and in support of some suggested alterations in the management of the fund by Mr A. C. Caughcy, of Auckland.
Further consideration of the subject was then deferred to next session.
In the evening an ordination service was held, the candidates being the Revs. W. S. Bowrie, J. W. Burton, and Hamiora Kingi. The. ordination ' charge was delivered by the President. Mr R. G. Cook was received as a Minister on probation.
