RECENT ACCIDENT.
[By Telegraph—Press Association,]. Wellington, last night. The girl Maud McDonald, whose skull was fractured hi the trap accident on Lambton Quay on Monday, is progressing favourably. INCREASED COST OF LIVING. The Wellington Hospital Trustees have taken the increased cost of living into consideration in passing estimates for the ensuing year. HIS HONOR. Mr Justice Cooper will arrive in Wellington on the sth March. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. Alfred Rayner, a laborer, residing at Trentham, cut his throat with a razor on Monday night, but is now recovering. A DEAD INFANT. A schoolboy while playing in Clydo Quay Reserve this afternoon found the dead body of a female infant a day or two old, under a tree. THE SEVENTH CONTINGENT.
Twenty men of the Wellington quota of the Seventh Contingent went into camp at Newtown Park to-day. - The men from the other districts are arriving. Colonel Messenger is in charge of the camp.
