DAMAGE BY SEA.
[By Telegraph—Press Association.] ' New Plymouth, last night. _ The heavy sea has made a breach in the railway reclamation wall, doing com siderable damage. TOLL GATES. In the toll gates lease appeal from the S.M., Mr Justice Connolly has reversed the decision, reserving a new point raised. The S.M. said that the toll gate was illegal.
SEVENTH CONTINGENT. The selection was made to-day for the Seventh Contingent. Sixty-three applied and the number was reduced to 15, from which ten were finally selected. SAD FATE OF MR HART. An inquest was held’ to-day on the body of the man named Hart, washed off a rock' last Sunday while fishing. The body was not recovered till yesterday. A verdict of accidental death was returned, with-xa rider suggesting that a board be placed at the spot. There was an enormous concourse at the funeral, which was a military one.
